The Legend of Yin Fu

Yin Fu’s teenage lived in Beijing selling fried dough sticks and croquettes. He was known as “Ma Hua Yin”. He loved martial arts and learned “bouncing legs” and “Rohan boxing” from a young age. He had good martial arts skills. After baguazhang master Dong Haichuan came to Beijing, his baguazhang high mastery thrilled Kyoto. Yin Fu worshipped under Dong Haichuan’s gate and began to learn baguazhang. After years of hard work, Yin Fu is outstanding and became a proud disciple of Dong Haichuan.
Yin Fu is called “slim Yin” because of his thin body and handsome appearance as a weak scholar. Yin Fu absorbs the essence of Dong Haichuan’s boxing skills and integrates the boxing skills he has learned.
Yin Fu lived in [Qihuamen], a verbal headline in Jicheng, outside [Chaoyangmen], and his baguazhang is now called [Dongcheng Bagua Palm] or [Yin Pai Bagua Palm, Yin Bagua Palm].
Yin Fu later taught eunuchs in the palace to practice baguazhang. The Emperor Guangxu once meet Yin Fu and saw his extraordinary skills, so he learned baguazhang with him. Therefore, at that time Yin Fu was known as the ‘teacher of Emperor ‘.
In the second year of Dong Haichuan’s death [Guangxu Nine Years], Yin Fu and Donghaichuan’ disciples set up a monument for Dong Haichuan, the ancestor of Bagua. There is a second generation of Baguazhang in the back of the monument, which counts 56 people. The second tombstone built in the thirty years of Guangxu’s history was all named after Yin Fu leading his disciples. Twenty inherited characters of the lineage on the inscription, it also proves that Yin Fu is a great disciple of Dong Haichuan or heir to the first line. Yin Fu received many disciples throughout his life, including Gong Baotian, Ma Gui, Tian Zigan, Li Yongqing, Ju Qingyuan, Cui Zhendong, He Jinkui, Yang Junfeng, Liu Dongchen , Cao Zhongsheng, Men Baozhen, Zeng Zengqi, and Liu Qingfu, and other well-known later generations, Yin’s baguazhang was widely spread by the unremitting efforts of the public.
